The 29th annual European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases™ (ECCMID) will take place Amsterdam, Netherlands in April 2019. The ECCMID is one of the biggest medical congresses worldwide, in the last years the organizers were counting around 15,000 attendees per year, and it gets more. Every spring, experts from the whole world come together and discuss new findings in the fields of Clinical Microbiology, Infectious Diseases and Infection Control. Because of the vivid exchange of knowledge, topics like Biosciences, Infectious Diseases, Health Care, Clinical Research and Pathology continue to make progress. ECCMID is organized in close collaboration with all four committees of ESCMID.
Amsterdam is the hosting city for the congress in 2019, a historic, vibrant and bustling city, which is made up on characteristic neighborhoods. All those have their own charm, sets of shops, cafés and restaurants and everything is within walking or cycling distance. Be it the culture in the plush 19th century Museum quarter, eating herring from the cart, tasting beer at a windmill, looking at the Old Masters at the Rijksmuseum or taking a past bearing excursion to the Anne Frank house – there is so much to see and do! And – of course – one should not miss to attend one of the famous canal cruises.
The venue for the congress is the RAI in Amsterdam, a property that has, over more than a century’s time, developed into a leading international exhibition and conference complex. The RAI is situated 8 minutes from the Amsterdam city center and 15 minutes from the Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and has ample parking facilities. It also has its own train station and the Tram 4 runs regularly between RAI, city center and central station.
