The European Renal Association – European Dialysis and Transplant Association (ERA-EDTA) is an organization of physicians with over 11,000 members.
It is registered in Wales but mainly aims the advancement of medical science and clinical work in nephrology, dialysis, renal transplantation, hypertension and related subjects in the whole European and Mediterranean area – regardless of governments’ policies and industrial influences.
This year the congress will offer an exceptional scientific program, focusing on 9 different tracks and offering plenary lectures, mini lectures and symposia.
2019th congress venue is going to be Budapest – once again, after 33 years. This time, the association is expecting more than 18 000 worldwide participants. Of course a lot of things have changed in the capital of Hungary, but certainly not its beauty and attractivity.
Locals say the best time to visit Budapest is from May to July as the temperatures vary around an agreeable average maximum of 25.4 °C and almost never drop below 15 °C. It is also the perfect time of the year to take stunning walking tours, for example through the Margaret Island, an Island in the center of Budapest or to the fortification Citadella, from where visitors get a beautiful view over the city.
Otherwise participants can simply enjoy the favorite summertime drink of the Hungarians, “fröccs” (roughly pronounced “fruutch”), a drink based on bubbly soda water and fruity wine, while sitting in a beautiful outdoor terrace facing the impressive St. Stephen’s Basilica.
Budapests cultural variety is also reflected in the cityscape. The architectural style is the variety of styles itself. Attentive visitors can find traces of gothic, renaissance and classicism. It even has a medieval quarter around Buda Hill.
