Network with peers, opinion leaders, and innovators while experiencing the energy of a city rich in history and culture. Lisbon offers a captivating backdrop of light, sea, and endless discovery, with every corner telling a unique story.

The 2025 EHC congress venue is Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. It sits at the mouth of the Tagus River, opening into the Atlantic Ocean. Lisbon serves as the political, cultural, and economic heart of the country. Summers here are dry and rarely hot, thanks to a constant Atlantic breeze. Winters can be chilly, with temperatures sometimes dropping below freezing. Alfama is Lisbon’s oldest district. Visitors wander through its narrow cobblestone streets to reach the Castle of São Jorge. From the castle, you enjoy stunning views of Lisbon and the Tagus River. Moreover, a flea market surrounds the castle on Saturdays and Tuesdays. Here, you find antiques alongside new goods.
A true must-try are the Pasteis de Belem or, in other districts, Pasteis de Nata. These puff pastries are filled with delicious vanilla cream. Baked fresh, they are often sprinkled with powdered sugar and cinnamon. Although a Portuguese princess from the House of Bragança introduced tea to England, coffee is now Portugal’s favorite drink. Filter coffee is rare; when Portuguese order a café, they expect a strong espresso.
