The European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress will be held in Munich at the end of August 2026. As the world’s largest event in cardiovascular medicine, the ESC Congress features over 500 expert sessions and receives more than 10,800 abstract submissions each year, driving global progress in cardiovascular care. The 2026 edition will also mark the release of new Clinical Practice Guidelines, including updates on STEMI management, valvular heart disease, peripheral artery disease, and dual antiplatelet therapy.

The 2026 congress will take place in Munich, the capital of Bavaria and one of Germany’s leading cultural and economic hubs. The city is home to iconic landmarks such as Marienplatz with its historic town halls, the Theatiner Church, Odeonsplatz, and renowned art galleries. Locals and visitors alike enjoy the peaceful English Garden—Europe’s largest urban park—and the scenic banks of the River Isar. Munich is also world-famous for the Oktoberfest, the largest beer festival in the world, attracting over six million visitors each year from mid-September to early October.
