European SocieTy for Radiotherapy and Oncology
  1. Stockholm has a lot of world-famous and unique sights like the classics Skansen, an open-air-museum and zoo with a wide range of Scandinavian animals including the bison, brown bear, moose, gray seal, lynx, otter, red fox, reindeer, wolf and wolverine. Another must-see is Vasamuseet, a maritime museum that displays the only almost fully intact 17th century ship that has ever been salvaged, the 64-gun warship Vasa that sank on her maiden garden in 1628. Gamla Stan is the old town of Stockholm and consists primarily of the island Stadsholmen. The town dates back to the 13th century, and consists of medieval alleyways, cobbled streets, and archaic architecture. North German architecture has had a strong influence in the Old Town’s construction. Stockholm is home to several Michelin-starred restaurants. In recent years, Stockholm has gained international attention and reputation as a place where chefs are reinventing their roots and food traditions, and are creating new ones. The Stockholm restaurants that hold one or two Michelin stars are certainly blazing their own trails and are continuously seeking new ways to present Swedish cuisine.
