  1. Information about the city of Rome

Rome, host of EANO 2026 is the capital of Italy and a city with nearly 2,800 years of history. As the heart of the ancient Roman Empire, it shaped law, art, literature, architecture, technology, and language in the Western world. Today, this legacy still influences global culture and society. The city also has the highest concentration of historic and architectural treasures in the world. Its historic centre, which reflects the artistic and cultural heritage of Western Europe, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. According to legend, Romulus founded Rome on 21 April 753 BC, starting one of history’s most influential civilizations.

Visitors to Rome are drawn to its museums and archaeological sites. For example, the Roman Forum and the Vatican Museums offer countless ways to explore the past. Moreover, Rome is not only about history. A walk through Villa Borghese, with its 80 hectares of greenery, monuments, and cultural attractions, shows a peaceful side of the city. This mix of ancient wonders and calm open spaces gives Rome its unique, timeless charm.
