Barcelona, host of ECNP 2027, is the capital of Catalonia and Spain’s second-largest city after Madrid. Moreover, this vibrant and cosmopolitan destination lies directly on the Mediterranean coast. The city’s iconic architecture, including masterpieces by Antoni Gaudí and Lluís Domènech i Montaner, has earned UNESCO World Heritage status. In addition, Barcelona offers a wealth of modern art. For example, the MACBA – the city’s contemporary art museum – is a must-see for enthusiasts.

Furthermore, Barcelona boasts a rich cultural landscape with museums, exhibitions, outdoor sculptures, and a wide variety of music, theater, and dance performances. Its imaginative cuisine also combines tradition and innovation. Fresh vegetables, fish, sausages, and olive oil form the basis of many dishes. Overview of the event

The annual ECNP Congress is Europe’s largest meeting in applied and translational neuroscience bringing together psychiatrists, neuroscientists, neurologists and psychologists from all over the world to discuss the latest developments in the science and treatment of brain disorders. With approx. 5,000 participants, the ECNP Congress is Europe’s major showcase for new research, treatments and technologies in applied brain science. It spans the spectrum of human mood, behavior, cognition and emotion, from basic science to clinical care. The 40th ECNP Congress is held at the CCIB Venue in Barcelona, Spainand presentations are given in-person by high level scientist and almost all presentations are live streamed to an online Congress platform.
