Information about the city of Paris
The destination of this year´s WONCA conference is Paris, the capital of France. Paris has so many sights to visit as hardly any other metropolis. Typical attractions are the Basilica Sacré Coeur, the Arc de Triomphe or the Panthéon – and, of course, the Eiffel Tower. The French capital also offers a high-profile cultural landscape: around 200 art galleries, 100 theaters, about 160 museums and more than 10,000 restaurants ensure a high level of enjoyment in Paris.
The beloved Parisian landmark, the Eiffel Tower, consists of 3 floors, featuring a multimedia show, an exhibition, a sky walk, a few souvenir shops, and restaurants. At the top you can enjoy the view over Paris and look into the room of the architect Gustave Eiffel. The Roman-Catholic pilgrimage church on Montmartre, the Sacré-Coer, is another must-see. Between the Place de la Concorde and the Place Etoile with the Arc de Triomphe is probably the most famous boulevard of Paris: along the Avenue des Champs Elysées pure luxury and a true shopping paradise.
