The way to a future worth living in:
SUSTAINABILITY
It is our target to contribute to the sustainable development of the MICE industry. Berlin’s image as a progressive and green metropolis with inclusiveness should also be strengthened and consolidated through our contribution. The event industry is very resource-intensive and that is why we have a special responsibility here.
We commit ourselves, to handle human, material, and natural resources responsibly.
Of course, we examine our corporate activities internally under the aspect of sustainability, but we especially include our customers and service providers in this consideration. A holistic and active dialogue should help to ensure that our efforts have positive effects on a larger scale.
Among other things, our participation in the sustainability program Sustainable Meetings Berlin serves as a guideline. Already certified as a high performer today, we want to continuously develop ourselves within this movement. Even if we understand sustainability as a path on which we as a company set out together with our employees, clients, and service partners, we have already taken important steps to pave the way.
Our team – our strength
We are aware that our corporate sustainable goals can only be achieved if our employees not only feel they belong but are able to self-actualize themselves. The motivation of every single team member has a decisive influence on the satisfaction and thus the overall performance of the company. We reach employee satisfaction on the one hand through respectful and appreciative interaction with one another, on the other hand with equal opportunity and treatment as well as creating the necessary scope for decision making.
We attach great importance to open and honest communication as well as a partnership-based and emphatic relationship with our staff members. Whether building a bug hotel together combined with a BBQ in the office’s own garden, team events and sports activities, easing the re-entry after parental leave by means of flexible working hours, home office, part-time models, transparent and contractual framework conditions, diversity, or unrestricted support for training and further education: We focus on every single team member.
Even beyond the boundaries of our office, the expertise of our team – specialized in sustainable events – is in demand, as one could recently read in the magazine Grazia.
Joint forces & commitment for a sustainable future
MR Congress & Incentive supports the start-up company pan‘up – a sustainable event and content brand – and in return receives valuable input on the subject of sustainability from company founder Mareike Krieter.
This meaningful cooperation enables both sides to exchange know-how and best practice examples and is lived with vegan / vegetarian dishes at joint meetups and lunches.
For us, sustainability also means making our contribution to the next generation and we – therefore – are supporting the Berlin-based children’s project the Arch (Arche) since 2014.
Among other things, our team spends one afternoon there annually in the run-up to Christmas to decorate some Christmas trees with the children. Trees, decoration and delicacies are of course donated by us.
The ecological footprint –
our way from XL to XS
Internally, we made great efforts, especially in 2020/21, to reduce our ecological footprint. This included switching to Greenpeace Energy as an electricity supplier, and a durable material that has multiple sustainability certifications was chosen for the renovation of the floor covering in the entire office. With the creation of new digital structures and consistent implementation, we now are able to take care of our project related work almost completely paperless. The conversion of the accounting in the second step will intensify the positive effects of this. Consistent waste separation & recycling, tap water instead of mineral water from plastic bottles, energy-saving LEDs and thermostats with automated timers for all heating systems have already been standard for many years.
Our project Save Bees – an affair of the heart for us – stipulates that we donate € 50 for each incoming contract. A farmer receives this donation in order to preserve 100 m² of honey fallow for a year. As a thank you for considering our company, the booking client recieves a glass of honey and the farmer’s confirmation that the donation has arrived properly and will be used accordingly.
When planning and implementing events, we prefer to offer our clients service partners for whom sustainability plays an equaly important role in their entrepreneurial activities or who are even certified accordingly.
Electric bicycles, scooters or buses, discovery tours on foot, local public transport or the train – there are many alternative means of transport that we take into account during the conception of an event.
We see digital and hybrid events as another great opportunity to carry out climate-friendly events, because they offer enormous savings potential in terms of CO2 emissions. Therefore, we have continuosly expanded our range of offers
As a team, we focus on sustainable experiences
… not just in the form of lasting memories. Every event has the potential to contribute to sustainability – whether socially, economically or ecologically. Find out more by viewing our Mission & Vision.
