Venue for the ESMO Targeted Anticancer Therapies Congress (ESMO TAT) is Paris, the capital of France and the world-famous “City of Light”. Paris has so many sights to visit as hardly any other metropolis. Typical tourist attractions are the Basilica Sacré Coeur, the Arc de Triomphe or the Panthéon – and, of course, the Eiffel Tower. The French capital also offers a high-profile cultural landscape: around 200 art galleries, 100 theaters, more than 160 museums and more than 10,000 restaurants ensure a high level of enjoyment in Paris.
The “Eiffel Tower” should not have been in Paris for more than a hundred years. The so called “300-meter high tower”, was conceived solely for the world exhibition in Paris. After twenty years he was to be demolished again. The Roman-Catholic pilgrimage church on Montmartre, the Sacré-Coer, is hard to describe. Beautiful, with its many ornaments and bright white illuminates it over the city. Between the Place de la Concorde and the Place Etoile with the Arc de Triomphe is probably the most famous boulevard of Paris. It shows a real boulevard: more than 70 meters wide along the Avenue des Champs Elysées, a true shopping paradise. At Louis Vuitton, there are exhibitions of contemporary art, the entrance is free.
