Information about the city of Gothenburg
The 95th EAS Congress 2027 will take place in Gothenburg. The city combines Scandinavian charm with culinary excellence and creative energy. Located on Sweden’s scenic west coast, Gothenburg attracts international travel writers and food bloggers from around the world. In addition, its trendy neighborhoods, Michelin-starred restaurants, world-class craft beer scene, and vibrant cultural life give the city the feel of a much larger destination. Gothenburg also ranks among Sweden’s top destinations for fresh, locally sourced seafood. Visitors can choose from fine dining restaurants, casual bistros, and lively harbor-side fish stalls. Therefore, food lovers can enjoy a wide range of culinary experiences for every taste and occasion.
King Gustavus Adolphus founded Gothenburg in 1621 as a center for fishing and shipbuilding. Over the centuries, the city developed into a major hub for automotive innovation. Today, Volvo Cars and the soon-to-open World of Volvo shape the city’s modern identity. At the same time, Gothenburg embraces an open and entrepreneurial spirit. The city places strong emphasis on sustainability, innovation, and quality of life. As a result, visitors can enjoy cultural events, outdoor activities along the coast, and memorable culinary experiences throughout their stay.
We are closely connected with our hotel partners and can make suitable offers to you at any time. Of course, we also support you as usual with all other services for a successful congress participation. Please send your request for the EAS 2026 to congress@mr-congress.com
Overview of the event
The European Atherosclerosis Society organizes the EAS Congress as a leading platform for basic, translational, and clinical research on atherosclerosis and related vascular diseases. The 2027 congress will run from May 30 to June 2 in Gothenburg. Researchers and clinicians from around the world will meet to discuss new scientific findings and their impact on future diagnosis and treatment guidelines.
One of the congress’s key strengths lies in its interdisciplinary exchange between clinicians and basic researchers. Furthermore, the EAS 2027 scientific program will feature contributions from many of the world’s leading experts. Attendees can look forward to the renowned Anichkov Lecture, inspiring keynote lectures, innovative plenary sessions, focused workshops, and advanced clinical seminars. In addition, the EAS actively supports early-career researchers through its Young Investigator Fellowships and other career development opportunities.
