…events one should be part of
We already wrote about it… Berlin has big plans for the next twenty years. Of course, they also say: The future begins now! Many exciting, professional, and educational events are regularly offered on the way to a sustainable future, which are definitely worth taking part in! We would like to present a small excerpt from the large year-round offering here today.
An old German folk song says, “the May makes everything new”. The GREENTECH FESTIVAL from May 15th to 17th, 2024 at the Messe Berlin exhibition center is all about transformative change and green technologies in all areas of industry as well as a profound change in the design of sustainable lifestyles. Between historical charm and modern progress, the GREENTECH FESTIVAL, together with its partners, plans to inspire an audience from all over the world. At the same time, the Berlin Energy Days 2024 will take place on May 15th & 16th, 2024, by far the largest congress in the energy sector in the German-speaking region. Germany’s energy transition experts meet annually in Charlottenburg’s Fasanenstrasse to discuss current political decisions, technical formats, and a wide range of practical aspects.
June, summer solstice: Berlin in June is also on the move sustainably. The conference for sustainability communication MOVE will take place in the Quadriga Forum Berlin on June 5th & 6th, 2024. Here, experienced experts share their knowledge and explain how to credibly communicate one’s sustainability efforts without greenwashing and what one needs to consider in order to meet the applicable reporting requirements. Participation in this conference can be wonderfully combined with a visit to the BDEW Congress, which will take place on June 5th & 6th, 2024 at the STATION-Berlin. The energy industry has been working towards a climate-neutral future for years. In collaboration with politics, the economy, and other stakeholders, this congress will build on previous successes and continue its ambitious path. The connection between politics and practice is to be further strengthened at the BDEW Congress.
In the summer months it is a good idea to experience sustainability in ways of art and culture. A recommendation for this is, for example, “The House of Futures”, the FUTURIUM Berlin. In the Futurium everything revolves around the question: How do we want to live? In the exhibition, visitors can discover many possible futures, discuss them together in a forum and try out their own ideas in the Futurium Lab. The house is open every day except Tuesdays and the entry is free of charge. “Why don’t we do what we know?” The special exhibition KLIMA_X in the Berlin Museum for Communication explores this key question. As one of the greatest current challenges, the global climate crisis affects everyone and calls for action. KLIMA_X presents examples that show that civil society engagement can promote change in society as a whole. The exhibition can be visited every day except Mondays until September 1st, 2024, and entry is free of charge on every first Sunday of the month. Finally, the exhibition “After Nature” looks for answers to the question “How are climate change, species extinction and the crisis of democracy connected?” The interactive exhibition in the Humboldt Forum Berlin can be visited every day except Tuesdays. Admission is free.
Things continue to be exciting in the fall. For example, there is the Green World Tour, the diverse sustainability fair in the Berlin Malzfabrik on September 7th & 8th, 2024. A festival for sustainable marketing “BAM! – “BOCK AUF MORGEN” (fancy tomorrow) will take place on September 25th & 26th, 2024 in the Berlin Greifswald. The festival shows new perspectives and underlines the role of marketing and communication in the transformation towards more sustainability. As the leading platform for sustainability in Germany, the Sustainability Congress on October 16th & 17th, 2024 at the Umweltforum Berlin invites top managers and decision-makers from the German economy to come together to tackle the most important challenges of our time. The construction industry will celebrate the KLIMA FESTIVAL (climate festival) on November 21st & 22nd, 2024 in the Berlin STATION and all trades involved in the construction branch will exchange ideas. Together they discuss solutions, ideas, and concepts for the construction industry of tomorrow. Sustainable! For the construction revolution!
